If you’re in the official ChainEX Telegram Channel, then you know how common it is for accounts to pose as ChainEX and request money from you as traders. Please note that ChainEX will never ask you for money!

Who is ChainEX?

ChainEX is a South African digital asset exchange that offers South Africans a secure, user-friendly platform to buy, sell and trade various cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Vault, YFI, SUSHI, LINK, and plenty others with the South African Rand (ZAR) as the default fiat currency.

There are a host of ways to ID the official ChainEX accounts, but unfortunately, there are a lot of scammers that do their best to pose as ChainEX.

Facebook Scammers

  1. We use the same logo and profile pictures across all of our social media accounts.
  2. Our username is @ChainEXIO on all our platforms. The ChainEX name includes an uppercase “C” & “EX”.
  3. Below is an example of the official ChainEX Facebook Account, and a few fake scammer accounts that need to be reported.
  4. Our “About” section has been filled in, and we post content every day 😄

Telegram Scammers

The official ChainEX Telegram Channel can be found here. ChainEX Support will never ask you to share personal information on Telegram, nor will we ever ask you to send us any form of payment. There is no official “ChainEX SUPPORT” Telegram account. Any such accounts belong to scammers.
